@tressiene, lovely artstagrammer and friend of mine, calls every piece of art made during this period of self-isolation and quarantine, pandemic art. It doesn't matter what it is. I think it's lovely and profound (most things @tressiene says are lovely).
That said, this post is dedicated to everyone who has been trying to each a reading goal, a running goal, who is finding it difficult to bond with family or manage with a lot of people in their space, persons in relationships strained by distance, writers whose works were rejected by literary magazines even if they held beautiful memories, business men who have lost quite a fortune, the spontaneous who have been confined to one environment, everyone who is broke, everyone stuck with abusers or people they can't stand, everyone feeling inadequate, every artist, photographer or creative who seems to have lost their touch. (That's a long list🙃).
You're doing good, very well too! Don't push it! You are loved!
To those with goals, do you think you can do better? Yes, you can. No pressure. You want a time-out? Take one dear! This is your half-time. Fix or relax, it's your choice. More than that, love your progress. Bask in every teeny-weeny moment. If you find that you can't read but excel at making meals? Wear your new chef badge like you mean it! Repost your poems even when they're rejected. Breathe and relax.
Aid your progress.
Work towards your goal with love but draw the line where and when you wish. Again, no pressure. Where you have a lot of work to cover, draw up schedules and to-do-lists. Make fun timetables with time to rest in-between. Are you behind in online lessons? Back-up the voice notes and play them while doing chores or running in the morning. Read documents slowly and make notes. Take one course at a time. Don't push it. Finally, rather than feel bad that others are achieving their goals, congratulate them, ask for help. That way you build positive energy and who knows, you may make a new friend.
No pressure! Fix or relax. Love your progress!
With love,
Ude Ugo Anna.
